The Network
The home page is your personal overview of whats happening in this organisation. Administrators can make announcements that can be viewed by all users in all groups.
Just a community
First thing, create a group but don't create any applications.
Next, invite members and you have a wall like Facebook or Linkedin to allow posts and discussions.
Community and Apps
All users when they join a group become 'Lite Members' They will not be able to see applications within a group or the discussions related to the applications.
Upgrading users to 'Members' within a group gives them access to view and interact within application in a group.
